CONSULTATION: Crisis-mode
This type of consultation is utilized when your loved one’s physical and/or cognitive impairment is such that entry into a nursing home or assisted living is imminent.
This form of consultation includes:
ESTATE PLANNING DOCUMENT REVIEW:
a. review of their Will (or Living Trust), Power of Attorney, Living Will and Healthcare Proxy.
The purpose of such review is to determine if such documents are in the “ready-ready” mode in light of their changing health circumstances.
NJ MEDICAID ASSET PROTECTION REVIEW:
A review of what types of assets need to be transferred, or retitled, to take advantage of the NJ Medicaid Code’s exceptions to the 5-yr. look-back rule.
